Soon it might be possible for Waze users here in Malaysia to alert the local municipal councils in regards to potholes, by reporting it through the Waze app. The Selangor state government wants to further strengthen their initiatives to create smart solutions in Selangor, and currently, they are are in talks with the Waze developer to see whether this can be made possible.

The local municipal councils from many places such as Ampang Jaya (MPAJ), Kajang (MPKJ), Subang Jaya (MPSJ), Shah Alam (MBSA), Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) and Klang (MPK) will put a joint effort to monitor reports of potholes daily. The joint effort can result in having the potholes being fixed as fast as within 72 hours after receiving the report. Since the report will consist the GPS coordinates of the potholes, finding it will be a lot easier.
As for now, nothing is confirmed yet, but if the plan goes well, there are many more mechanisms that they can implement from this project.
