It seems even Snapchat is keen on having its own spotlight in entertainment. The company has announced that there will be a full-motion TV series based on Bitmoji avatars aptly named Bitmoji TV. According to TechCrunch, the show will start to air in February 2020 and the premiere is coming soon.
Snapchat's motivation behind this move is probably to increase the use of Discover, which is the platform's version of a news feed. Currently, Discover has content from some major media and publishers but Snapchat clearly wants to increase its traction. And Bitmoji TV could be what Snapchat needs to make Discover more interesting to check regularly. However, we don't really know much about the series yet so it's hard to say how effective it could be.
