Anker isn't the first brand you think of when you're shopping for earbuds. However, the company did previously launched some Soundcore earbuds in Malaysia, like the Soundcore Liberty 5 in May last year. Now, we're getting two more belonging to the Liberty 5 Pro series.
Special carry case
The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro series features two new pairs of earbuds - Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max. Both models feature the same earbuds design, but it's immediately apparent that the carrying case is what makes them different.
The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro's case features a small touchscreen display, which has several useful features. It can display the charging status, adjust EQ settings, and switch ANC modes. On the other hand, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max has a larger touchscreen display on the top of the lid. This one goes the extra mile by doubling as an AI note-taker that can record audio, transcribe it into text, and summarise your notes with ease.
Anker Thus AI chip
At the heart of the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro series is the Anker Thus AI chip. It's built to enable clearer voice calls and more effective active noise cancellation. According to Anker, the chip can better isolate your voice and block background noise, making it possible to make voice calls even in noisy bars. Interestingly, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro was declared "Highest speech quality score for TWS earbuds" by the Guinness World Records last month.
The chip also helps with audio quality. With AI Sound Enhancement enabled, the chip can reduce real-time Bluetooth audio quality loss by 65%. The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro series also has lag-free voice control, so you can take calls, adjust the volume, skip tracks, and more nigh-instantly with voice commands.
Price and availability
There's no local launch date for the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max. However, we know that the two models retail in the US for USD 170 (~RM674) and USD 230 ~RM912), respectively. The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro comes in Pearl Blue, Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Rose Gold colours. As for the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Max, you can grab one in Titanium Gold or Midnight Black colours.
