If you fancy yourself a DJ, Spotify's latest update might be of interest to you. The company has announced a new beta feature for Spotify Premium subscribers. This feature allows users to add custom transitions between tracks.
Custom transitions like a DJ
As you may know, transitions for music tracks aren't anything new. However, crossfades aren't popular with DJs, who tend to prefer more interesting mixes. Now, Spotify Premium offers that with its new "Mix" feature. Now, you can tap on the new Mix button in the Spotify mobile app to tweak your playlists.
There's an "Auto" option that automatically generates track transitions. Users can also choose the "Fade" or "Rise", as well as tweak specific settings like EQ, volume, effects, and more. Once you're done, tap on the "Save" button to save the custom transition. Tapping on the "Mix" button again disables the custom transitions.

Going one step further
Besides the above, Spotify provided some tips on how beginners can do mixes. If you want to learn more, you can check the official announcement.
