This time, the famous Jane Manchun Wong has spotted another code in Spotify, revealing a new feature which we didn’t know we need with the help of Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa. The code has revealed that Spotify is working on a voice command ‘Hey Spotify’ to let users ask the app to play songs, albums, and apps without typing anything.

For the new feature to work, users are required to open the app and let it stay in the foreground. With that being said, the feature is not that useful since some of the users are already using Google Assistant or Siri to ask the app to play songs. Therefore, the experts are guessing the feature is designed for another purpose.

It is said that the ‘Hey Spotify’ voice command is going to be used on a new Spotify hardware, as the company was rumoured to roll out a voice-activated in-car player. The Spotify's device “will sync to car stereos via Bluetooth connection, as well as preset buttons that correspond to Spotify playlists” according to 9to5Mac.
