Today, there is going to be two brand new audio series by Spotify – Secret Genius and AM/PM – both of which see renowned artists and producers talking exclusively to Spotify.

AM/PM

AM/PM is an artist-led on-demand audio show where the guests tell the stories behind the music that fires them up every morning (AM) and what they turn to when the clocks are off in the evening (PM). So basically, you get to follow a day of the songs that soundtrack the artist's world.

Wolf Alice frontwoman Ellie Rowsell revealed that endless touring on a sleeper bus had “turned her into a vampire” who wakes up at 3pm. In tribute to that sense of oddness, Rowsell made her AM selection “aggressive, with a go at life with a bite attitude”, picking songs like Bad Brains’ ‘Sailin’ On’, Foals’ ‘Inhaler’ and Le Tigre ‘Deceptacon’ to get her and the band ready for another show.

On his PM playlist, Tinie Tempah said that when he’s trying to impress a girl his playlist will always “focus on putting people onto tunes they haven’t heard before” and that he strives to make the music on his episode “as new and as fresh as possible.”

AM/PM has a two 12-song playlists document their day and their night, and will be streamed in two separate shows for each person. You can check their list out below:

SECRET GENIUS

Next, Secret Genius is about great songwriters behind the soundtrack to our lives. The on-demand audio show features interviews with acclaimed - and up and coming - songwriters all of whom have created incredible music.

The show launches with Nick Van Eede (who wrote Cutting Crew’s ‘I Just Died In Your Arms’) and Ed Drewett (who's written for One Direction and Olly Murs), with future episodes focusing on Nicky Chinn (one half of ChinniChap, the early 70s hit factory responsible for a wealth of beautifully over-the-top, gum-chewing glam pop) and Ryan Tedder who, alongside his starring role in OneRepublic also writes with U2, Adele, Elton John and Ed Sheeran.
