Spotify is currently the largest music streaming service in the world with its 96 million subscribers and 170 million users. By doing more than just music streaming, the company has come up with many ideas to connect people socially through music. Recently, a new feature called Tastebuds was discovered from the app and it lets people discover songs from streaming activities of others.

Jane Manchun Wong, a technology blogger who is famous for uncovering numerous unreleased features from apps, found out that Spotify is brewing something for its users. Tastebuds is said to allow the users to discover friends’ playlists and view what songs they’ve been listening to. You can also add the songs into your library from there. Sadly, the prototype is now only available for the desktop version and you can check it out here.

Earlier, we have also heard news that Spotify is developing a prototype called Social Listening. What it does is allow users to create a live playlist for multiple people to add songs into the queue, and have a real-time streaming party. From that, we can see Spotify’s effort on bringing more social features to the app.

Talking about features, I seriously need that ‘swipe to queue’ gesture that is ‘exclusive’ for iOS users to be available for Android users. Let us know what you think about all of this on our Facebook page! Stay tuned to TechNave.com for more app updates.
