Spotify raises the subscription fee for its Premium plan starting this October 2025

Spotify subscription prices in Malaysia have been increased starting this October. So, what should you know about it?

 

Lossless Audio caused the raise

In fact, this increase affects all individual, duo, family, and student plans. The Individual plan is now priced at RM17.50/month, the Student plan at RM9.50/month, and the Family and Duo plans have been increased to RM27.90 and RM24.50 per month, respectively.

This increase comes shortly after Spotify began offering lossless audio features to Premium subscribers last month. For existing users, these new rates will be automatically implemented on the next billing cycle.

Additionally, Spotify insists this price increase is important to ensure the platform remains sustainable and provides the best music experience.
