Spotify released a new feature that helps differentiate between real human artists and AI

Recently, Spotify launched a “ Verified by Spotify ” feature. This feature looks like a sticker on artist profiles, and it serves to differentiate between human and AI-generated artists. It’s a step towards increasing trust and transparency in an era of AI-generated music.

There are a few requirements that artists will need to fulfil

For your information, an artist or individual aiming to receive this verification badge will have to fulfil a certain requirement. For instance, Spotify will look at consistent listener streaming activity and see if there are sudden spikes, which is usually a sign of bots. Artists also need to prove they are real people on and off the platform through concerts, merchandise sold, and social media accounts used.

Moreover, identity verification badges will appear on artist profiles and search results in the coming weeks. Over 99% of artists that users search for will be verified at launch. Besides the identity verification badges, Spotify is also introducing a new profile view that displays achievements, upcoming album releases, concert activities and more, so fans can get to know artists better. This feature is still in beta only on the Spotify mobile app.

Additionally, there are no further details on the news. So, we should wait for more announcements from Spotify.
