Steam planning to show which games can support PlayStation DualShock or DualSense Controllers

Just recently, Steam announced that Steam players will be able to see which game can be used with their PlayStation DualShock or DualSense Controllers. With this, players no longer need to second-guess which games can be used for a PS4 and PS5 controller.

To let players find which games can be supported with the PS4 and PS5 controllers, a new controller-support questionnaire in Steamworks was given to developers. This can let them specify more information within Steamworks, including inputting a DualShock or DualSense Controller support as seen in the image below.

Steam is planning to release this update in the Steam Store and Steam desktop client starting in October 2023. We should be able to see it in the Steam App too since the Steam Store is accessible through there. Besides that, Steam will also update the browse page to let players find games that support their controller more easily and more.

As aforementioned, using a PS4 or PS5 controller for Steam already exists but it was difficult to tell which game supports it. The most common way is either using the traditional mouse and keyboard, as well as an Xbox Series One or a legit third-party gaming controller to play.
