Guess what else is actually getting a boost due to the coronavirus? Steam records. That's right, Steam recorded a new all-time high in concurrent users yesterday, with up to 20 million players seen on the platform. It being a Sunday, along with the quarantines and lockdown in many countries may have contributed to the staggering new record.

According to PCGamesN, the new record was an impressive 20313451 concurrent users. There were also a total of 6.2 million players in-game at the time the record was taken, most of who were playing CS:GO (971k players), Dota 2 (616k players), and PUBG (264k players). These numbers were all taken from SteamDB, an independent site that tracks Steam user stats.

It should be noted that while Steam broke its record of concurrent users, that doesn't mean that all those users were actually gaming. Considering the huge discrepancy in numbers, it's most likely that the majority of users either spent time just browsing the store for new games or leaving the program running in the background. I would know since I do that quite often myself.

Were you one of the many users who spent the whole of yesterday on Steam? Do you spend more time actually gaming, or browsing for games and idling around? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
