A recent study by Data Reportal, a platform for global statistics, revealed that Malaysia recorded the second-highest QR Code usage in the world last year. The study’s findings, as shared by The Nation, showed that 66.1% of the Malaysian population used QR Codes monthly last year.
Only China recorded a higher percentage of the population using QR Codes last year at 67.4%. In third place is Thailand with 61.5%, followed by Argentina (61%) and Brazil (60.8%).

- Malaysia – 66.1%

- Argentina – 61.0%
- Brazil – 60.8%
- Vietnam – 58.3%
- Switzerland – 57.7%
- Taiwan – 57.4%
- Sweden – 54.9%
- Colombia – 54.8%
Besides that, the study found that the global average for monthly QR Code usage last year was 50.8%. Moreover, QR Code usage is still way below the global average in the United States at just 35.8%.
