Online dating platforms are developed for us to meet people that are outside of our social circles. However, there are also other platforms that have different purposes, as they allow you to look for a person to be in a mutually beneficial relationship that involves money. It seems like Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) don’t really like the idea of it and they have taken down billboards of the dating platform Sugarbook earlier this week.

The platform Sugarbook is a place for you to meet Sugar Daddy, Sugar Mommy, and even Sugar Baby (let’s assume you know who they are). According to the official site, it lets you be in a relationship in exchange for financial support. Recently, the company have put up billboards of their platform and they were really proud of it. Sadly, the happiness didn’t last long as the billboards were soon taken down by DBKL after being found out.

Sugarbook’s billboards went viral after they were discovered by the public. Many think the billboards were inappropriate and lewd for our Malaysian culture. The Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) has also stated that they actually didn’t know anything about the ads in the first place, as they were not informed by the billboard operator, Out of Home.

It didn’t take long to remove the ads as they were shown as electronic billboards. Let us know what you think about this issue on our Facebook page! For more viral news, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
