It's no secret that iPhones tend to be late to the party when it comes to wild features. However, iPhones still have a higher value than Android devices even today, according to a survey.
The Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) just recently released a new survey asking what new phone buyers did with their previous phones. There are three categories to vote on - Retained, Sold or Traded In, and Disposed. When comparing Apple and Android users, 41% of Apple users sold or traded their old iPhones, whereas 17% of Android only did so.

Factoring that in, this might influence the 53% of Android users retaining their old phones or simply dispose of them at 30%. On the other hand, 40% and 19% of iPhone users retained and disposed of their old iPhones, respectively. In the retained section, both groups would give their old devices to a friend or family, or keep them as backup.
While this survey was held in the West, we can't be too surprised if it's a similar situation in Malaysia. After all, Apple holds a powerful brand image among consumers and still does these days, even though little innovation is seen on the iPhone these days.
