Synology marked its 25th anniversary with a strong momentum in enterprise adoption and a refreshed vision to help businesses thrive in an era of explosive data growth. The company unveiled new intelligent backup, enterprise-grade storage, and AI-powered collaboration solutions designed to enhance cyber resilience and operational efficiency across industries.
A Milestone Year for Synology
“Digital transformation continues to be the main driver of data growth,” said Thachawan Chinchanakarn, Head of Southeast Asia at Synology. Citing an IDC Global Forecast, she noted that the world will generate 175 zettabytes of data by 2025, a figure projected to surge to over 2,100 zettabytes within the next decade.
In Southeast Asia, Synology’s 2025 Digital Transformation Trend Survey found that 90% of businesses have already invested in digital transformation strategies. However, 85% remain in early stages, and while over half have faced cyberattacks, only one in five organisations expressed confidence in their recovery capabilities — highlighting a growing need for advanced, secure infrastructure.
Strong Regional Growth and Trust

Backed by 25 years of expertise, Synology now powers over 14 million installations, protects 25 million endpoints, and connects 2 million cameras worldwide. In Malaysia, the company has seen revenue nearly double in the past five years, driven by increased enterprise adoption and trust in its security-first solutions.
“With our expanded portfolio, business customers in Malaysia now have more tailored solutions to meet their diverse needs,” said Jason Sin, Country Manager of Synology Malaysia. The company’s enterprise adoption in the country has grown by 130%, reflecting strong demand for scalable and resilient data management systems.
New Flagship Solutions for Enterprises

Earlier this year, Synology introduced ActiveProtect, a purpose-built backup appliance for enterprise-level data protection. Available in models from 8TB to 140TB, it offers immutable backups, air-gap protection, and compliance support, enabling organisations to guard against ransomware and other cyber threats across multiple sites.
The company also debuted the PAS7700, its first all-NVMe enterprise storage system. Engineered for ultra-high performance, the PAS7700 delivers up to 2 million IOPS, 30 GB/s throughput, and sub-millisecond latency. With its active-active architecture, robust encryption, and fault-tolerant design, it’s purpose-built for mission-critical workloads in data-intensive industries.
AI-Powered Collaboration on the Horizon
Looking ahead, Synology plans to integrate AI capabilities into its Office Suite, introducing features such as optical character recognition (OCR), semantic search, summarisation, and real-time translation. These features will be powered entirely by on-premises AI servers, ensuring data privacy and compliance while empowering teams with smarter, more secure collaboration tools.
Driving the Future of Cyber Resilience

“Cyber resilience is now the top priority for IT leaders worldwide, essential for business continuity and enterprise competitiveness,” said Thachawan. “Our latest portfolio reaffirms Synology’s commitment to delivering simple, scalable, and secure solutions that empower businesses to safeguard their most critical assets and thrive in the digital future.”
With its 25-year legacy, growing enterprise momentum, and focus on AI innovation, Synology continues to cement its role as a trusted partner in helping organisations navigate the challenges of digital transformation with confidence. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
