If you started your PC gaming during the mid-90s, chances are you may have at least heard of System Shock even if you've never played it. Well, the old sci-fi FPS game is being remade and is scheduled for launch in 2020. Recently, developer Nightdive Studios released an 87-minute gameplay demo for the new remake that revealed quite a few things.

The gameplay video was actually a recorded stream from Twitch, which showcased the vastly improved graphics based on the Unreal Engine 4. Besides the graphics, it also showed some combat action with a variety of weapons and puzzle-solving. Everything is looking really good so far and though there were some framerate drops and glitches, the game should be on track for a launch this year.

The remake seems more like a first-person action RPG than outright FPS, but it does capture the look and feel of the original game. That said, have any of you ever played the original System Shock?
