TCL Fold 'n Roll is rollable and foldable phone in one device

You've seen foldable phones and even rollable ones, but have you seen one that combines both? That's exactly what TCL has in mind, as it unveiled a new concept that combines the two form factors. Say hi to the TCL Fold 'n Roll.

Yesterday, TCL introduced its Fold 'n Roll concept at its Display Your Greatness event. This is a device with a display that has both a folding and rolling mechanism. This is a prototype device that has a total of three form factors - phone, phablet, and tablet. Specifically, the screen size goes from 6.87-inch to 8.85-inch and then to 10-inch.

Besides the Fold 'n Roll, TCL also introduced other ideas and devices

As you may realise, there are two mechanisms needed for this device. There's the hinge for the device to fold (outwards), as well as the rolling mechanism to store the rest of the display. In the tablet form, the aspect ratio will also change to one suited for videos, though it does end up with black bars on the top and bottom.

Of course, this is just a concept device that may never go into mass production. But if it's ever made a reality, would you be interested in getting one? Share your thoughts about the device in the comments below! Also, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
