TECNO Phantom V Flip release - Dimensity 8050 SoC and 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED at ~RM2825

TECNO has just announced its first clamshell foldable smartphone during an event in Singapore, the TECNO Phantom V Flip. Arguably the cheapest new ‘flip’ smartphone in the market currently, read on to find out more about the device. 

As reported by GSMArena, the main display is a foldable 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 22:9 aspect ratio and 1000 nits brightness. Meanwhile, the outer screen is a 1.32-inch circular display cleverly embedding the main camera module.

Speaking of which, the Phantom V Flip has a 64MP main camera paired with a 13MP ultra-wide. Meanwhile, the selfie camera housed inside the main display’s punch-hole cutout is a 32MP shooter. 

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a 4000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Colour-wise, it’s available in either Black or Purple.

In India, the Phantom V Flip is priced at INR49999 or ~RM2825. No word on global availability yet, but it is very likely that the device will be available in other markets outside of India.
