Based on today's report by The Star, TM (Telekom Malaysia) has already issued a warning about a data breach for selected Unifi users.

According to TM :

"A data breach involving certain information of select Unifi customers has occurred. We have isolated the risk and additional security measures have been put in place to protect our customers and notified relevant authorities for further actions."

The company apologised for the inconvenience caused. When asked, the TM representative answered that the message is a notification caused by a new incident. TM is expected to provide a full statement soon.

As of now, the breach has been contained and precautions have been taken to minimise its impact on affected users. Moreover, TM advised everyone to be wary of scams, unknown calls and emails. They also suggested that everyone avoid clicking fishy links or sharing important information with unknown parties.

This is the second breach that TM has suffered in recent months. The company confirmed that a data breach affected 250,248 Unifi Mobile customers. Hopefully, TM will improve its security measure and learn from this incident.
