In case you missed it, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has made it easier than ever for domestic customers to switch to the Time-of-Use (ToU) electricity tariff. You can now apply directly through the myTNB web portal, giving you greater control over your energy usage and bills.
Recapping ToU
The ToU scheme offers lower electricity rates during off-peak hours, outside of 2 PM to 10 PM on working weekdays. It’s designed to help users save by shifting their energy consumption to times when demand is lower. The (ToU) electricity tariff scheme is open to a wider customer base, including both domestic and non-domestic low-voltage users.
How to Switch Online
To apply:
- Log in to your myTNB account
- Click the ‘Switch To ToU’ button
- Follow the guided steps to verify your details and submit your application
Only registered account holders can initiate the switch. If your premises already have a smart meter, the change will be processed within five working days. Otherwise, installation may take up to two months.
