Touch n Go eWallet is ready to announce at the beginning of this year that it will implement 100% user identity verification of its digital wallet. After being given 10 months, TNG eWallet announced that they would implement 100% eKYC effective 20 December 2024. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, all TNG eWallet users will need to verify their identity before being able to use the digital wallet. Under eKYC, users will need to upload a photo of MyKad, before also uploading a selfie. TNG eWallet says that by doing full verification, they will be able to overcome the problem of fake accounts or those used for fraudulent activities, in addition to increasing the integrity of the TNG eWallet ecosystem.
For existing TNG eWallet users who have not yet verified, TNG said it will be limited gradually - until they verify their identity. For now, TNG eWallet does not share anything related to MyDigital ID integration that may further facilitate identity verification. We have yet to confirm other details. Hopefully, TnG will reveal more information about it soon.
