TSMC has announced its development timeline at the 2022 TSMC Technology Symposium. With that said, we're now able to know when are the new chip technologies arriving.

According to the company, the 3nm node will show up in the second half of 2022. It comes in five tiers, each more powerful, more transistor-dense, and more efficient - N3, N3E (Enhanced), N3P (Performance Enhanced), N3S (Density Enhanced), and N3X (Ultra High Performance).

In 2025, the company will only present the 2nm node. It's expected to boost performance by 10% to 15% at the same power draw and bring a 25% to 30% lower consumption at the same frequency and transistor count compared to the N3E node. N2 also increases chip density over N3E by 1.1x.

Are you ready for the new chip technology? The next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is probably the first chip to use the 3nm node, but it's just an assumption. Leave a comment to let us know your thoughts, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
