Starting today (1 January 2025), Malaysians can now check their tax identification number (TIN) online. The Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is providing this TIN search service in line with the announcement made during Budget 2025.

To search for your TIN online, access the MyTax Portal at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my. First, select between "Individuals" and "Other Than Individuals". Next, select "Identification Card No." (or "Passport No." if you're an expatriate working in Malaysia). After that, input the relevant number and click on 'Search'. You should now have a TIN to copy and paste for selected MyTax e-filing services.

Of course, this function is only available to Malaysian citizens. In related news, online submission of the Section 107D Payment Form (e-107D) will also be mandatory starting today. If individuals or businesses need to perform any tax deduction payments, they can do so at https://byrhasil.hasil.gov.my.
