Yesterday, the Predator League 2025 Malaysia Qualifier Finals was held in One Utama with Malaysia’s top teams - Team Myth Avenue Gaming (MAG) and Team Unsigned5 in the finals, taking the victories in their respective games - DotA 2 and VALORANT, respectively.
During the DotA 2 qualifiers, Team MAG dominated Team Odd Taxi with a 3-0 win in the finals. Prior to that, the team also secured back-to-back wins with a 2-0 result in the semi-finals and an unbroken streak in the finals. Meanwhile, Team Unsigned5 and Team Todak were tied at 1-1 after two games, then went on to finish with a 3-1 score in VALORANT.
In addition to lifting the Predator Shield, both champions, Team MAG and Unsigned5 were each rewarded with over RM20,000 worth of prizes comprising RM10,000 cash and Predator merchandise worth over RM11,000. The first runner-ups in Dota 2 and VALORANT, Odd Taxi and Team Todak were also complemented with prizes, with each taking home a share of the prize loot - RM12,000 including RM8,000 in cash.
Adding to the excitement, Acer Malaysia has taken another significant step to champion inclusivity in esports by sponsoring Grills Gaming, Malaysia’s first all-female international esports team. Grills Gaming has received a direct invite to the APAC Predator League 2025 DotA 2 finals. Since the team's inception in 2016, Grills Gaming has broken barriers and gained widespread recognition for their gold medal victory at the 2023 Global Esports Games, where they triumphed over Peru in the finals.
Grills Gaming will now lead Malaysia’s charge on the international stage at the APAC Predator League 2025 with Team MAG, Odd Taxi and Unsigned5, who also earned the right to battle for another round of glory at the regional level in the APAC Predator League 2025 in January.
Speaking of APAC Predator League 2025, Malaysia will be hosting this event for the first time. Teams from 14 regions are coming to compete for the Predator Shield and a massive $400,000 prize pool (~RM1,786,000). Additionally, Malaysian singer Aina Abdul will perform live as a guest artist alongside international superstars. It will be held for two days, from 11-12 January 2025.
