As the popularity of Battle Royale modes grow on mobile, it’s not surprising that Activision has hopped on the bandwagon. Similar to the popular Call of Duty 4 on PC, the mobile version of the game, Call of Duty: Mobile has been announced to have a battle royale mode. Call of Duty: Mobile beta has only started a few days ago in some countries and has shown a lot of promise. The Battle Royale mode has been hyped up and for good reason - Call of Duty 4’s Battle Royale mode,  Blackout was a huge hit at release and we may be seeing many features from the PC version of the game ported into mobile.

100 players will be playing in a single battle royale lobby with single, 2-man and 4-man teams currently are being tested out in the beta. Classes will be introduced, each with special abilities and skills, similar to the legends on Apex Legends. Classes in the game are Defender, Mechanic, Scout, Clown, Medic and Ninja. When playing in teams, players able to revive teammates by retrieving dog tags from teammates which means players are not completely out once they’re dead. Also, maps have many territories for players to explore and includes areas from previous COD titles such as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and more.

How the battle royale loadout in COD: Mobile looks like

Gameplay rules will be similar to COD4’s Blackout mode with players dropping from the sky and going around looking for loot such as weapons, armour and supplies. The last person or team standing wins the game. As of right now, the devs have confirmed that players will have a choice between playing in first or third point of view (POV) but players can only decide which before the match starts and are unable to switch between the two POV during the match.

As of right now, Malaysia is not included in the list of countries participating in the beta so you may have to wait after its release. In Southeast Asia, Call of Duty: Mobile is under the Garena umbrella so let's just hope they can pull some strings and have us participate in the beta. So will you play the COD:Mobile beta?
