First up, PUBG bans over 30000 radar hack cheaters. I mean, it is about time they did something about that because as you know, cheaters do not make any game fun for the rest of us honest players. However, that’s not the most interesting bit. Caught in the ban waves were also a bunch of professional PUBG players. Among them was TEXQS, a dominant LAN PUBG player.

TechNave Gaming’s Top 5 games of 2018

2018 brought with it a variety of amazing games. It has been such a great year for video games, it was somewhat hard to keep up with many different titles and genres coming into the field. Even indie games gave AAA games a run for their money with their innovative and interesting game mechanics and storytelling.

Everyone seems to have their top 5 games this year and honestly, seeing the top games on their list didn’t surprise me as the games listed truly did deserve to be placed up there. And as for me, here’s my top 5 games of 2018!

  1. Florence

Yes! This indie game on Android and iOS managed to steal my heart. The game is short, with only 30 minutes of gameplay but it’s beautiful artstyle, captivating storyline, intriguing mechanics as well as charm placed Florence high up on my list for me.

It is a story of a girl who finds love and loses it, who finds life mundane but decides to change it. It is an incredibly relatable tale of the life of many and what you can do to take control of your life and follow your passion. You can find this game on the Apple App Store and Google PlayStore for RM12.

  1. Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC

Destiny 2 was a sinking ship ever since its release. With mediocre content and repetitive tasks that make the game feel like a chore, the Forsaken DLC is a breath of life to a game with a dying player base. The main campaign had a decent play time with constant weekly updates. The only thing that sucked to me was Cayde-6’s death (which was teased over and over again to hype up the fanbase for the DLC’s release) but it was a good part of the storytelling nonetheless. You can play this game on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

  1. Marvel’s Spider-Man

To state the obvious - this game makes you feel like you are Spider-man. No, really. Swinging around a true to life New York, saving people and battling the iconic bad guys from the comics and movies is definitely a treat. The characters in the game were lively and likeable with the exception of Mary Jane, who I found kind of whiny, but maybe that’s how her character was made to be. Marvel’s Spider-Man is a Playstation 4 exclusive (Sorry, Xbox fans and PC Masterracers).

  1. Detroit: Become Human

An interesting take in discrimination, this game changes the way you view others. An interesting story of the oppressed minority which no longer seems to be people but rather, androids. Machines which were equipped with AI to help humans live their lives suddenly possess free will and want to be treated like any other human. The storyline can be cliche, you get to choose your own fate but do take note that every action has a consequence. However, that experience does get dampened when you see the action flowchart at the end of each stage. Detroit: Become Human is a Playstation 4 exclusive.

1 . God of War 4

This game has been wrestling with Marvel’s Spider-Man in many top 5 lists but on my list, GOW4 takes first place. I’ve never played any of the God of War series before this but the game’s storytelling and flow made it very easy to follow the story. Not only that, this game pays so much attention to detail such as Mimir’s storytelling whenever your party is on the boat will not be cut off but instead, Mimir will continue the story when you are back on the water. The graphics in the game are breathtaking and the combat system is absolutely fun, especially once you’ve unlocked different skills and found your perfect combo. God of War 4 is another Playstation 4 exclusive but I do wish it was spread across many other platforms just so everyone could experience this game like I did.
