Trend Micro says Apple will see more cyber attacks in 2017

Traditionally Apple devices don't really get attacked by computer viruses or cyber attacks that much. However, Trend Micro says that Apple devices could see more cyber attacks in 2017 mainly because of its rapidly increasing market share. Here's what they suggest you do to protect yourself:

  1. Act like you're using a Microsoft product
  2. Always update your operating system
  3. Take advantage of the "find my iPhone feature"
  4. Activate the "erase data" feature in the settings
  5. Set a firmware password
  6. Use a VPN
  7. Always lock your screen

Kaspersky discovers new malware called Shamoon and StoneDrill

Kaspersky Lab recently revealed that they have discovered 2 new sophisticated wiper malware called StoneDril and Shamoon out in the wild. Both destroy everything on the infected computer.
