Tecno Chameleon Coloring Tech could see your smartphone’s backside change between 1600 colours

Almost mirroring the colour changing BMW from CES2023, Tecno has come out with their Chameleon Coloring Technology which could allow a phone or device equipped with it to change between 1600 different colours. The tech itself is not a display but instead uses sub-micron prisms allowing it to change colours in just 0.03 seconds.

The tech is also energy efficient so you can change it 100 times a day and only use up the same amount of energy as watching a video. Tecno envisions it to change colours and patterns automatically to mirror notifications, battery status, music and so forth much like the LEDs on the Nothing (1) phone.

So far, no Tecno device has been named that might use this Chameleon Coloring Technology and there are no Malaysia release dates, but it could mean the start of more such colour changing phones or even cases that you can customize as you want.
