Another interesting smartphone enters the market when the year is about to end. The new Tecno Phantom X2 series has arrived, and the Pro variant has brought a retractable camera. It's not something we've never seen before, but it's rare.

The Tecno Phantom X2 and X2 Pro get powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. They also sport a 6.8-inch AMOLED display at a 120Hz refresh rate, with protection provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The battery that juices up the devices offers a capacity of 5,160mAh, alongside support for 45W charging.

Coming to the camera, the Phantom X2 Pro features a 50MP 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL 3.0 sensor in its primary shooter. It also has a 13MP ultra-wide camera that doubles as a macro camera as it has autofocus. Moving to the highlight, the device has a retractable portrait lens that uses a 50MP ISOCELL JN1 sensor. It has a very bright f/1.5 aperture, which is relatively wide for a 65mm smartphone lens. However, it's retractable, so it keeps the smartphone slim, as it only extends when in use. On the other hand, the vanilla variant has a 64MP primary camera, the same 13MP macro shooter, and an additional 2MP depth sensor. Both use a 32MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls.

The Phantom X2 Pro comes in Mars Orange and Stardust Grey. Meanwhile, the vanilla X2 is available in Stardust Grey as well, and also Moonlight Silver. The devices' price tags haven't been revealed yet, but they're expected to go on sale in the coming weeks.
