Joining the ranks of other big battery phones is the Tecno Pova 8 5G which was recently released in India for 30000 INR and 32000 INR (~RM1280). Featuring an 8,000 mAh battery, a rear Alive Matrix Display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset and a 15,000mm² graphite sheet, the phone seems aimed squarely at midrange gamers. No Malaysia release dates yet but it is expected in India on 18 June 2026.
Going for a balanced mix of features?
Swapping out the previous generation light strip, the Pova 8 features an Alive Matrix Display embedded right inside the camera island below the 50MP main camera. On the front, there's the 6.76-inch FHD+ LCD display with 144Hz refresh rate along with the 13MP front camera.
The battery tech also includes 45W fast wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging. However, while there is IP64 dust and water resistance, the phone does not have military-grade drop resistance standards.
