Pavel Durov, the founder and product manager of Telegram Messenger recently revealed that Telegram will launch paid features in 2021 while current chat features that are free, will continue to stay free... forever. Fear not though, as he has mentioned that the encrypted Telegram Messenger will continue to remain private (so there won’t be any selling of private data, whew), but there may be their own ads platform coming soon.
Other paid features will target business or power users but there’s been no mention as to what exactly these features will be. The aforementioned own ads platform will likely affect those who utilize Telegram as single channel feeds, and who have been using third party apps to do so.
Again, no specifics or details on how much their own ads platform will charge or whether they will block usage of these third party ad apps but with 2021 coming in just another week or so, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
