Today, Pavel Durov, Telegram CEO announced that the Telegram app will have Stories. Prior to this, Telegram was actually against it but as one of the most requested features by Telegram users, it will be launched soon in the Telegram way.
According to Durov, Telegram Stories will have a flexible privacy setting which users can set to 'Everyone', selected contacts or a list of close friends. On top of that, the Stories user interface will also be compact, where users can place it in an expandable section at the top of their chat list. This makes Stories accessible without taking up too much space.
In addition, users will be offered a dozen of photo and video-editing tools to input captions, links and tags into their Stories. Dual Camera support will be integrated as well and perhaps the best one of all - users can choose how long the Stories should last. It can be 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours, or even permanently.
Durov said Stories should be available in early July 2023. We don't need to wait that long as it's almost the end of June soon. So sit tight and stay tuned for that.
