It's inevitable that every messaging platform would want a video call service. This is especially true with many companies still allowing employees to work from home. Now, it seems like Telegram has jumped on the bandwagon by adding video calls to its platform.

While not a commonly used app in Malaysia, Telegram has over 400 million users globally who now get to enjoy fast and encrypted video calls on both the Android and iOS version of the app. Video calls can be initiate via the profile page of the person you want to contact and you can switch video on or off at any time during voice calls too. Picture-in-picture mode is also supported, so you can still check your chat while taking a video call.

Besides video calls, Telegram also added more animated Emojis. In case you're not familiar with Telegra, it works by sending the corresponding Emoji in chat and would automatically be animated. Whatsapp still doesn't have animated Emojis, so that's one advantage that Telegram has.
