As most Asian mobile gamers know, Tencent is one of the biggest companies that produce popular mobile game apps such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and many more. The company have also recently caught out attention that they are planning to build their own handheld gaming console that's similar to the Nintendo Switch.

According to sources, they have been granted a patent for the handheld game console design on 19 March. It was filed in October last year under the publication number CN306392452S and from the list below, one of the keywords say "portable handheld device". The design images also showed up which looks like a fat Switch version.

If you look closely at the fat Switch patent design image (cover header), you can see a Window 10 logo on the left side. Should they go through with this, it's quite likely to be compatible with PC games or perhaps allowing games on the console to be played on the PC. Tencent also has another design that looks much thinner and supports Type C port charging.

It would be really interesting to see how they would enter the console gaming market, as they don't have that much experience in hardware as opposed to software. But what do you folks think? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
