Today, our local minister of International Trade and Industry Tengku Zafrul just announced that Tesla will indeed be making its way to the Malaysian market. The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) also announced its approval, and we will be seeing Tesla's presence soon.

Although there isn't any definite date yet, it is confirmed that Tesla will establish a new office here, as well as Tesla Experience and services centres. Supercharger networks will be installed around as well and this also spells new job opportunities for Malaysians to work for Tesla.

Tesla's application to import Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) has been approved into Malaysia, so this marks the company as the first applicant of MITI's BEV Global Leaders initiative. The initiative is to boost the BEV demand in the Malaysian market.
