Tesla is working on a humanoid robot to do "unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks"

What is that thing? Well, that's a humanoid Tesla Bot and it was just recently unveiled by none other Tesla CEO Elon Musk at Tesla AI Day. As creepy as it looks, it is also technically impressive and maybe launching sometime next year.

Second question - what does a Tesla Bot do? According to Musk, the bot was designed to help people with various tasks such as running grocery stores, moving household items and many more (from the words of the company, designed to handle unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks). Will it take over our jobs? Well, that's a topic for another day but Musk said there is "no shortage of labour" and manual labour will be "an option".

To get into the tech specs, it weighs 56.6kg and a 172cm tall. The face to shoulder area may be too dark to our liking but it's said to display information on the face when needed. The Tesla Bot's hands and arms are operated with 40 electromechanical pushrods while balancing itself on its two feet with a strong feedback sensor.

In addition, it also has a self-driving camera that acts as its "eye" while the fully autonomous computer functions as its "internal organ". The Tesla Bot's multi-camera video neural network will plan, tag and simulate itself to operate effectively and efficiently while performing tasks.

Musk assures that the Tesla Bot is "friendly" too. Since it's also designed at a "mechanical level", you can pretty much run away from it and even overpower it if you're scared (lol).
