Online bots and scams have been prevalent as of late. Hence, it is understandable why everyone is cautious when shopping online. Thanks to this new AI tool, Fakespot, you can detect fake online reviews and make a more informed purchase.
For your information, the Fakespot was bought by Mozilla Firefox. True to its name, this tool helps you differentiate between fake and reliable reviews. Interestingly, this tool was first founded in the US to spot dubious reviews on popular US retail sites such as Amazon, eBay, Best Buy, Sephora, and Walmart.
In addition, you can filter these reviews according to their reliabilities on the product page. The tool assigns grades from A to F. A is the most reliable and genuine while F is filled with the most fake reviews. Remember, these grades only assess the quality of the reviews, not the product itself. Hence, you will need to keep that in mind when using the tool.
As of now, this tool is available as an extension for internet browsers. That includes Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Chrome. Besides that, the tool is also available as an app on Android and iOS. This tool could be launched as a permanent feature for the Firefox web browser.
We have yet to confirm other tech specs or the Malaysia release date for this tool. However, rumour suggests it could be online for mobile and desktop devices during the launch of Firefox version 120. The event is scheduled to happen on 21 November 2023.
