Yup, you read that right, it's the ROG Phone 5s series (not the 5 series) which has been confirmed by the ASUS Republic of Gamers Malaysia. From the social posts on Facebook and Instagram, the ROG Phone 5s series will officially launch on 8 October 2021 at 9 PM.
What's the difference between the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5 series? Well, for starters - there are the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro models that are equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset. According to ASUS, there is an improved AI Engine that offers a 20% boost compared with the predecessor.
Another difference is the pro variant having a coloured PMOLED display so it looks a lot cooler. The memory configuration goes up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage but we will have to wait and see which variant we are getting. Other than that, the rest of the tech specs and features are pretty much the same but there is a chance that our local set may be different.
