Fans of Apple’s true wireless stereo earbuds have been waiting for the tech giant to update its AirPods Pro for some time now, with a rumoured refresh never came to be over the past two years. If the latest rumour is to be believed however, the AirPods Pro 2 will be coming later this year and will feature USB Type-C.

Part of the company’s gradual shift from lightning to USB-C (whether wilfully or forcefully), Phone Arena reported that the new port will also bring in fast charging. Besides that, the report also claims that the AirPods Pro 2 will be powered by a new System-in-Package (SIP) for the H1 chip.

The alleged new chip will improve EQ, Audio Sharing, Spatial Audio and the earbuds’ adaptive noise cancellation. Besides that, there are also reports that the AirPods Pro 2 will come with new sensors which will enable the earbuds to monitor its user’s temperature as well as heart rate.

However, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, we just have to wait until the eventual release of the AirPods Pro 2 from Apple to find out.
