The Apple Magic Mouse is reportedly being reworked to address the charging port issue

For the longest time, Apple has probably the worst charging port design for the Magic Mouse. But that could change in the future, as mentioned by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg that Apple is finally addressing some "longstanding complaints".

Gurman mentioned in his newsletter that Apple is actively working on a "full overhaul" of the Magic Mouse. However, he said we shouldn't expect to see the new modern Magic Mouse until mid-2026, as it's not expected to be released in the "next 12 to 18 months". The next Magic Mouse design could be more ergonomic and comfortable to hold.

Even though the company recently unveiled a new M4 iMac, the charging port on the Magic Mouse is still located at the bottom, making it unusable when charging. In Apple's defence, fully charging the mouse is quite fast and not often but many people still think otherwise. It's mind blogging that the charging port has been at the bottom since 2015.

This year, the only new thing about the Magic Mouse is having a new USB C charging port but still at the same place, as aforementioned. In Malaysia, it costs RM319 as a separate accessory but is included in the new iMac or Mac Pro.
