According to the latest news, Samsung Display and LG Display have been approved to mass-produce OLED screens for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. This approval marks that the iPhone 16 Pro is about to enter the production preparation stage, bringing more advanced display technology and design to consumers.

Samsung Display has previously obtained mass production licenses for screens for the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. It is also expected that approval for the Plus and Pro Max versions will follow soon. So, it would be interesting to see what Apple comes up with this time.

In addition, the display technology of the iPhone 16 Pro is further upgraded compared with the iPhone 15 Pro. It will adopt the border reduction structure (BRS) technology to reduce the border width to less than 1.5mm. This improvement makes iPhone 16 Pro the flagship phone with the narrowest border in Apple's history, greatly enhancing the visual impact of the screen.

Specifically, the border width of the iPhone 15 Pro is 1.5mm, while the border width of the iPhone 14 Pro is 2.2mm. By narrowing the border, while keeping the body size unchanged, the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro will increase from 6.1-inch to 6.3-inch, and the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will increase from 6.7-inch to 6.9-inch. This means that users will get a larger and more immersive display area, improving the overall user experience.

We have yet to confirm other details or the Malaysia release date on the phone. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly.
