In line with the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) initiative, today will be the first phase which will last until 12 April 2020. With this, the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN Malaysia) have taken the initiative to inform every Malaysian citizen about the official SMS messages they will receive during this week.
According to their official Facebook post, the SMS should only come from the number 62000 or 63833 only. So in other words, if you get any other numbers, the probability of the unknown number is a scam so do be careful. In addition to that, the official SMS message also said the payment will be credited into your account automatically and you can retrieve the cash in any ATM without any charging fee. In case if you get an SMS asking for your bank account and password, just ignore the scammer. Also, LHDN Malaysia will never call you. Ever.
