At the moment, there is no official release date for the Google Pixel 8. However, if everything goes smoothly, we could see the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro debut in California this October.

According to Yogesh Brar, the Pixel 8 Pro will sport a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120 Hz LTPO OLED display and the Google Tensor G3 SoC with a dedicated Titan security chip. It could also feature 12GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, and a 4,950 mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging.

On top of that, the Pixel 8 Pro could run on Android 14 from its launch and feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. It could also come with a new gimmick: the infrared temperature sensor. This gimmick would have been a hit if released in the COVID era.

Brar also added that the rear camera system consists of three sensors, a 50 MP main with OIS, a 64 MP ultrawide, and a 48 MP telephoto. For selfies, it could include an 11MP resolution camera. Rumour also says that the primary sensor could be Samsung's ISOCELL GN2, the telephoto the ISOCELL GM5, and the ultrawide being Sony's IMX787. We could also see the new time of flight (ToF) sensor as a focusing aid.

All in all, these specs look similar to the Google Pixel 7 Pro. We could safely assume that the upcoming model will be an upgrade to its predecessors, but not a game changer.
