If you recall last year, there was a lot of hype surrounding HongMeng OS by Huawei during the unfortunate GMS ban by the US government. It was supposed to be released on the Mate 30 series but what we got was the Huawei Mobile Service instead. Anyway, someone from Weibo leaked out that the OS could finally see the day of the light soon.

According to @RODENT950, the HongMeng OS will make its debut on Huawei's upcoming "Mate Watch" (which already passed its trademark certification in China) as well as the upcoming Mate 40 series. It's interesting to hear that a Mate Watch is coming because the company already has a smartwatch. Perhaps they want to make it as a premium brand lineup of its own as touches on various products, with the likes of notebooks and tablets as well.

There is barely any information about the Mate Watch since this is the first time we heard about it, but speculations say that this is a high-end smartwatch for premium users. It's also reported that the wearable will appear alongside the Mate 40 series in August 2020, which include the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and a Mate 40 RS Porsche model.

We still have a long way to go until August, so until then, stay tuned for more trending gadget news at TechNave.com.
