In an effort to build up internet connection across Malaysia, the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) has partnered with Telekom Malaysia Berhad to organise a special committee for it. The mission of the committee is to identify areas without internet coverage or poor access to the Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) program.

According to the Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, he said the information received from students facing internet access issues often have to walk far from home for WiFi access. With this, the committee's objective is to visit the sites with poor coverage to address the problems.

The minister also expects the committee to solve and overcome the issue not only in rural areas but security places such as police stations or military camps. He also asked other telco companies to help ensure that the rural areas have good internet coverage as it is important for the current circumstances for studying at home.

On the other hand, the KKMM is currently in discussions with several parties to help those in the media industry affected by the pandemic and losing their jobs. So far, 5000 media practitioners have been retrenched and they get help with the appropriate training by the KKMM.
