The MADANI government has announced a fund of RM1.5 billion to accelerate the digitalisation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSEs) nationwide. This fund was created through strategic collaboration between the public and private sectors, including financial institutions, digital banks and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) financing platforms. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, this initiative aims to enable SMEs to access digital technology, financing and expert guidance to enhance their competitiveness in the digital economy. The Business Digitalization Initiative (BDI) Council also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), SME Corp Malaysia and several other institutions to ensure that SMEs receive comprehensive support.

Additionally, this move will accelerate the adoption of digital technology and help small businesses transition to the digital economy more smoothly. As part of this effort, 21 MDEC-accredited e-Invoice Service Providers will offer freemium and affordable e-invoice systems.

This initiative will assist MSMEs in managing their business operations more efficiently and systematically. The government is committed to ensuring that MSMEs are not left behind in the digital transformation with comprehensive support to strengthen the resilience and long-term growth of the sector.

The event was also attended by key industry leaders, including the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital, the CEO of MDEC and the CEO of SME Corp Malaysia.
