Today, the MEASAT Global Berhad has announced that the MEASAT-3d satellite will be launching on 23 June 2022. This initiative is to deliver and enable high-speed broadband internet for over two million Malaysians.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that mobile internet coverage in rural areas is horrendous, but this is what the MEASAT-3d is meant to do. Utilising MEASAT's CONNECTme NOW service through the High Throughput Satellite (HTS), will benefit and help many Malaysians who are staying in rural areas. It is said that the CONNECTme NOW will boost the internet speed from 30Mbps to 100Mbps.

According to Yau Chyong Lim, the COO of MEASAT, he said that the company is proud to support the Malaysian government's JENDELA plan (Jalinan Digital Negara), particularly providing better connections for rural areas. Furthermore, telco providers can also tap into the MEASAT-3d for more data, voice and video services.

The MEASAT-3d's longetivity is estimated to live up to 18 years and cost RM1.2 billion to manufacture. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
