According to this local media website, Malaysia will be getting the MSI Claw A8 handheld gaming PC. This device has already launched in China and opened for pre-orders in Europe, and it will be a matter of time before the same happens in the Malaysian market.

 

When Is the Launch?

The source said MSI Malaysia has already submitted the MSI Claw A8 for a SIRIM certification, and the company is now just waiting for the process. It is expected to be available locally by the end of August 2025. Other than that, no other information was given, including the model and colour options.

 

MSI Claw A8 Tech Specs

Not to be confused with the Claw 8 AI+, the Claw A8 is equipped with an 8-inch Full HD supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and is running on AMD's Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip. It also features 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and options for either 512GB or 1TB storage.

Gamers will appreciate the inclusion of Hall Effect analogue sticks for improved durability and accuracy, RGB lighting accents, and a sizable battery for longer playtime of 80Whr, alongside a 65W PD charging adapter. The Claw A8 also has WiFi-7, Bluetooth 5.4 and dual 2W speakers.

In China, the MSI Claw A8 starts at ~RM4.1K and goes up to ~RM4.3K depending on the memory variant. For context, the MSI Claw A1M's starting price is at RM3499 in Malaysia, with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Until then, let's wait until the end of August to see the official announcement.
