The Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil has now stated that the government is examining Rahmah's 5G package specifically for student. This is an effort to ensure that the use of the new-generation network is more vigorous. That said, what should you know about it?
For your information, offering a specific package could reduce the cost borne by users for subscription and data access. Previously, the government was ready to offer several special packages to reduce the load, in addition to increasing the data usage rate - including the Rahmah 5G Package and the Rahmah P-Hailing Package.
Beberapa pengumuman penting mengenai rangkaian 5G dijangka diumumkan hujung bulan ini atau awal Mei.

To recap, there are reports of DNB's financial concerns on the dual 5G networks. Apparently, DNB borrowed RM2 billion from a local bank to fund the 5G infrastructure rollout alongside other financing agreements. Since nothing has been signed with the telcos, the "bankers are getting nervous" because that would mean DNB needs an extension of the government guarantee which will expire in December 2024.
Moreover, we have yet to confirm other details on the subject. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly and an affordable 5G package for students arrives soon. If anything, our students deserve better.
