The world's most powerful passport index by Henley & Partners has been published today. Malaysian passports rose to the 12th most powerful in the world this year compared to the 14th in 2023. Malaysian passport holders are allowed to travel to 182 countries without the need for a visa compared to 179 countries last year. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, this is Malaysia's best position since 2014 when the national passport was ranked 8th. The most powerful passport in the world still remains in the hands of Singapore which allows travel to 192 destinations without the need for a visa. In the Southeast Asian region, Malaysia ranks second while in Asia we are ranked fourth behind Singapore, Japan and South Korea.

In addition, we have yet to confirm other details on the subject. So, we should wait for more confirmation from the authorities on this matter. Hopefully, the Malaysian passport rank will improve more in the future.
